Franciscan Sister Michelle Marie Ozuna tells about a recent trip to Austin Texas and seeing a beautiful display honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe.

After visiting the Rosas y Revelaciones: Homage to la Virgen de Guadalupe exhibit at Mexic Arte Museum with my sister Selina and nephew Michael I walked away inspired by the humility and peacefulness of one of the contributing artists of the textile works.

A huge screen displayed videos of different contributors in their own settings while working on their masterpieces. One artist in particular really embodied the humility and peace of Our Lady of Guadalupe. It was a beautiful reminder of how Mary humbly presents herself to many different cultures and communities in their own likeness.  I felt a beautiful connection to this humble artist who I will never meet and our shared love for Our Lady of Guadalupe. The powerful expression of our common bond displayed through her humble and beautiful art which was a timeless reflection of the image on St. Juan Diego’s tilma.
