In 1926, Pius XI was Pope. In Lewiston, Maine, Fleurette Patricia Marie Blais was born on March 17th. As a young woman, she worked as a florist in her parents’ flower shop. Seeking a deeper relationship with the Lord, she entered the Daughters of the Holy Spirit in 1960. Her religious name was Sr. Marie Stella. When the sisters were able to return to their baptismal names, she took the name Sr. Patricia Blais.
Sr. Pat taught in the primary grades in Vermont, Connecticut and Massachusetts until 1989. She then began ministering as a home care provider in Vermont, retiring in 2001. She joined the community at St Joseph Living Center in 2019 where she continues to live our DHS mission among the other residents.
On March 15, 2026, Sisters, Associates, Consecrated Seculars, friends and family gathered at St Joseph Living Center in honor of her 100 years of dedication. Included in the festivities was the presentation of a Papal Blessing. Those present also extended their own blessing and well wishes. It was a joyous celebration.
