Becoming a Franciscan Sister of Christian Charity and serving at St. Paul VI Institute, Omaha, Nebraska, Sister Renee Mirkes has met some very interesting people. Meet Dr. Jessica Miller, NaPro Surgeon extraordinaire.

Meet Dr. Jessica Miller. By dint of circumstances—she was the only surgeon in our fellowship this year—Dr. Jessica is the hardest working fellow of the entire bunch. She was in the OR four days a week, assisting one of the three surgeons from the Institute clinic, with some complex surgeries lasting 15+ hours! And, miracle upon miracle, she came up smiling every time.

Add to that: she dropped off/picked up her husband, Dr. Cory Miller, a Pediatrician specialist, at the airport every two weeks (for an entire year) since he took a position in Montana. Two weeks in Omaha; two weeks in Montana.

On top of all of that, Dr. Jessica’s father would fly to Omaha from Michigan to help Dr. Jessica with her two-year old daughter, Evelyn, while her husband was practicing in Montana!!!

And, as you can see, Dr. Miller is resiliently happy as she pursues God’s plan for her life. I speak for myself and the entire clinic: we are really going to miss Dr. Jessica.
