The newly constructed B Block of the SCN Provincial House was solemnly blessed May 20, 2026, in an atmosphere filled with gratitude, joy and thanksgiving. Fathers, Sisters, guests, friends and well-wishers gathered to witness and celebrate the memorable occasion.
The program began with a warm welcome and introduction by Sister Sonali Soren, who briefly narrated the history and journey of the B Block project from its foundation stage to its successful completion. She recalled how the dream of constructing the building gradually became a reality through God’s providence, careful planning and the cooperation of many generous hearts.
The blessing ceremony was led by Fr. Barthalomeo Lakra, parish priest of Chakaram Parish, who invoked God’s blessings upon the new house and all who would reside in and visit the building. The occasion became even more meaningful as Sisters Rose Mary Lakra and Mary Joseph ceremonially cut the ribbon and officially inaugurated the new B Block.
During the thanksgiving program, Sister Latika Kottuppallil, provincial, extended special words of appreciation to all who played an important role in the planning and completion of the project. Sister Flavia Roderiques was specially acknowledged for her constant supervision, commitment and involvement throughout the construction work.
Gratitude was also expressed to Mr. Raman, the architect, for his creative design and professional expertise, and to Mr. Ranjit, the contractor, for his sincere cooperation and tireless efforts in coordinating the construction work.
A token of appreciation was presented to the team of builders in the dining hall in the presence of all the guests. The gathering also remembered with gratitude the laborers and workers whose hard work and sacrifices contributed immensely to the successful completion of the building.
The celebration concluded with a meal shared among all the guests and Sisters present. The spirit of togetherness, gratitude and joy made the occasion truly memorable for everyone gathered.
