“Happy Lent!”
This phrase always seemed to me to be oxymoronic. With the accumulation of years (otherwise known as “aging” or more gently as “maturing”), one begins to welcome this season of the liturgical year and even yearn for it. There is a greater need for Lent; hence we begin the holy season with the greeting, “Happy Lent!”
This journey calls for the daily surrender to the grace and gifts of God. May this be our prayer for each other as we say, “Happy Lent!”
In peace,
