Nazareth Convent High School celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day with patriotic spirit and enthusiasm Aug. 15, 2026, in the school auditorium. The celebration reflected this year’s theme, “Honoring Freedom, Inspiring the Future,” and the school’s theme, “Education Transforms the Self, Society and Nation.”
The program began with an introduction of the chief guest, Kalyani Waradhe, the highest-scoring SSC student of the 2025-26 academic year. The flag-raising ceremony opened with “Vande Mataram.” The chief guest and principal then raised the national flag in the presence of the School Council leaders.
A prayer service seeking God’s blessings upon India was followed by speeches in English and Marathi highlighting freedom, unity, responsibility and patriotism. A thought-provoking skit about corruption and examination paper leaks conveyed a strong message about honesty and integrity. The students’ performance encouraged the audience to remain hopeful, reject shortcuts, stand for what is right and uphold the values of India’s Constitution. A patriotic medley by the choir filled the auditorium with national pride.
The chief guest and principal addressed the gathering and encouraged students to become responsible, conscientious citizens. A vibrant dance performance concluded the celebration.
The program brought together patriotism, social awareness, gratitude and cultural expression, making the occasion memorable and inspiring for all.
