I am beginning my second year as a member of the Religious Formation Conference (RFC) Board and my sixth year as Co-Chair of Region 2. During my time as Formation Director for my congregation, the Sisters of St. Joseph Brentwood, I have made use of the many resources available to members of RFC. The one that I have used most frequently is InFormation.
InFormation is a newsletter that is published quarterly. Each issue includes a message from the Executive Director, an article looking at a current issue related to Religious Life, RFC programs and offerings, resources for initial and lifelong formation, take note, and piece called "For Your Reflection."
The two areas which I would like to highlight are the articles and take note. Congregational membership gives each member of the congregation access to InFormation. Sisters have told me that they appreciate the articles for their personal ongoing formation and also as a resource for local community discussion. In Take Note, there is a listing of regional formation programs and activities. This has enabled the formation directors in our region to participate in programs offered in other regions and share our programming with others. This has added a richness to our formation programs!
Past issues of InFormation have been archived and are available on the website.
I encourage you to share this resource with the members of your congregation and checkout what is happening in other regions!
