The Religious Formation Conference (RFC) invites applications for the 2026–2028 ForMission cohort. ForMission is a holistic, two-year formation program for consecrated women and men in formation ministry, including congregational leaders responsible for formation. The program offers residential formation plus year-round accompaniment, including one-on-one mentoring and supervision groups.
The summer residential session June 3-10, 2026 at the Carmelite Spiritual Center in Darien, Illinois, emphasizes personal transformation, communal reflection, and practical application for those responsible for forming mature, mission-ready religious in complex and changing contexts. Through input and interaction, participants will explore ecclesiology, interculturality, Scripture, spirituality, and formation skill-building, and reflect on how identity, authority, discernment, and interior freedom shape formation in today’s Church.
Presenters for the June session include Robin Ryan, CP, PhD (“Being Church Today: Formation and Discernment for Missionary Communion in a Fractured Church”); Roger Schroeder, SVD, MDiv (“Formed by Many Worlds: Identity, Culture and Conversion”); Laurie Brink, OP, PhD (“Formation in the Bible: God’s Long, Patient Work with Imperfect People”); Pat Bergen, CSJ, DMin (“Becoming Before Doing: Interior Freedom in Formation”); Kevin McClone, MDiv, PsyD (“Self-Awareness as a Formation Skill”).
Registration deadline is April 12, 2026. Visit the ForMission program page for more information and to register
