OMA Hosts Lunch and Learn to Share Mission and Work

The Office of Mission Advancement hosted a Lunch and Learn session to help staff better understand its role, history, and current priorities. The gathering offered an overview of how OMA supports the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth and advances the mission across ministries and countries.

The presentation reviewed the office’s evolution, including its earlier name, the Office of Congregational Advancement, and how its work has grown over time. Staff learned how OMA fits within the Central Office structure and how it collaborates with Leadership to serve missions in six countries across North America, Asia, and Africa.

The session highlighted OMA’s three core functions: communications, development, and volunteer engagement. Presenters explained how these areas work together to share mission stories, build relationships with donors and supporters, and invite broader participation through service and programs.

The Lunch and Learn also included an overview of lay mission volunteering, immersion experiences, and employee opportunities such as scholarships and local volunteer options. Staff were encouraged to see how their roles connect to the wider mission in practical ways, including volunteering, sharing stories, and participating in mission-focused initiatives.

A brief interactive quiz was part of the program, reinforcing key points from the presentation.
