Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly shaping the way health sciences professionals learn, conduct research and care for patients. In this regard, the appropriate use of AI represents one of the greatest challenges in moving towards better care.

For the De La Salle Institute of Medicine and Health Sciences (DLSMHSI) in Dasmariñas, Cavite, in the Philippines, this necessity is also part of its mission, according to Br. Lawrence Aikee R. Esmeli, Vice-Chancellor for Lasallian Mission and Development, as “technology must expand access to good healthcare whilst keeping the human encounter at the centre”.

In this regard, HealthX26: Multidisciplinary International Conference 2.0, scheduled for 4 and 5 December 2026, will be “a space to address these issues together, transcending disciplines and borders”.

The training event, organised by the DLSMHSI School of Advanced Studies through the Lifelong Learning Programme, has as its theme: “Transforming Health Sciences in the age of AI: Advancing better care”, and will be accessible online via Zoom, on Philippine time (UTC+8).

According to the organisers, on the first day, Friday 4 December, the Multidisciplinary International Research Conference will feature oral and e-poster presentations in the undergraduate and postgraduate research divisions. On the second day, Saturday 5 December, the International Plenary Conference will take place, led by four speakers: Hari Gopalan, MMA, MRT (DMS), Quality improvement Advisor at CHEO in Ottawa (Canada) and faculty of the DLSMHSI School of Advanced Studies, who will lead a practical workshop on artificial intelligence in health sciences; Dr Bumsuk Lee, Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Research and Training in Interprofessional Education at Gunma University (Japan), who will speak on interprofessional and integrated care; Dr Nahlah Abduljaleel Alsaidi, Senior Lecturer in Community Health at the Faculty of Medicine, MAHSA University, Malaysia, who will speak on evidence, equity and ethics; and Dr Jonathan Carreon, Vice-President for Academic Affairs at Huachiew Chalermprakiet University, Thailand, who will address the humanisation of healthcare systems.

The De La Salle Institute of Medicine and Health Sciences extends an invitation to the entire Lasallian Family to register and take part in the HealthX26 2.0 International Multidisciplinary Conference. These training sessions are aimed, in particular, at lecturers, researchers, clinical practitioners, trainers of healthcare professionals, academic leaders and students in general.

Registration is open until 2 December 2026 via the website: https://healthx2026education.web.app/. For further information, please email: sasconference@dlsmhsi.edu.ph.
