Seventh Generation Interfaith Presents the 2025 Father Mike Crosby Award to Sister Pegge Boehm, PBVM

Seventh Generation Interfaith is proud to announce that the 2025 Father Mike Crosby Award will be presented to Sister Pegge Boehm, PBVM. The award will be conferred at a reception during SGI’s annual conference on
October 7th.

The Father Mike Crosby Award honors a person who has advanced a more just and sustainable world, carrying forward the passion and commitment of our founder, Fr. Michael Crosby, O.F.M., Cap. Sister Pegge embodies this legacy through her lifelong dedication to faith-rooted social justice and her leadership in socially responsible investing.

“Sister Pegge’s vision and perseverance have strengthened SGI’s work and inspired us to remain faithful to our mission in challenging times. She represents the best of faith in action — courageous, grounded, and relentlessly committed to justice.”

— Christopher Cox, Executive Director

“The Father Mike Crosby Award is given to those who embody our shared values of courage, compassion, and integrity. Sister Pegge’s leadership and witness have been a gift not only to SGI but to the broader movement for corporate responsibility and systemic change.”

— Caroline Boden, President of the Board

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, baptized at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, and a graduate of St. Veronica Grade School and St. John Cathedral High School, Sister Pegge earned a degree in Computer Data Processing, which led to an 11-year career at First Wisconsin (now U.S. Bank). She also ran for state representative in the fourth district of Wisconsin, determined to “clean up the state of corruption.” While unsuccessful in her campaign, the experience gave her invaluable insight into the political process.

Later, after becoming a Secular Franciscan (SFO) at St. Josaphat Basilica, Sister Pegge discerned a call to mission. She left her banking career to establish the SFOs in the highland jungles of the Sierra Madres in Mexico, where she lived with the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Aberdeen, SD.

Her compassion for and accompaniment of those made poor led her to join the Sisters in 1985. After entering the order, she interned at NETWORK: A Catholic Social Justice Lobby in Washington, DC. These experiences, among others, prepared her to succeed Sister Ruth Geraets, PBVM in leading socially responsible investing for her community.

Today, Sister Pegge serves as a board member of SGI. She has led corporate engagements with companies such as C.H. Robinson, CMS Energy, Amazon, and Kroger, always keeping impact at the center of the conversation and asking the right questions.

Inspired by Jesus, Nano Nagle (foundress of the Presentation Sisters), and St. Francis of Assisi, Sister Pegge remains deeply committed to protecting the dignity of every human person and caring for all creation.
