“Be diligent in serving the poor. Love the poor, honor them, my children, as you would honor Christ Himself.”

St. Louise de Marillac

Sisters Speak Out
On Tuesday, June 24 (the Feast of St. John the Baptist), Sisters and justice promoters from religious communities across the country will gather in Washington, D.C., to raise a prophetic voice for justice. Together, they will pray and advocate for a just economy and compassionate treatment of our immigrant neighbors in light of the proposed federal budget.

Locally, the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati are amplifying the event’s messages by taking action. Earlier this week, Community members wrote letters to senators, urging them to oppose harmful budget cuts and increased funding for immigrant detention and deportation. These proposals threaten vital programs like Medicaid and SNAP, while deepening the suffering of our most vulnerable neighbors. As people of faith, we are called to protect human dignity and care for all.
