Sr. Priscilla Blais, (95), a member of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit, entered life eternal on Monday July 21, 2025 at St Joseph Living Center in Windham, CT.
Born on January 14,1930 in Lewiston, ME, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Stanislas Blais and Mary Stella Goulet Blais.
Sr. Priscilla entered the Congregation in 1963 and made her religious profession on May 30, 1966, at the Holy Spirit Provincial House in Putnam, CT. She was then known as Sr. Constance Joseph.
After profession, Priscilla attended Bullard Haven Vocational School of Practical Nursing and graduated with an LPN certificate in 1968. She served as an LPN both in district nursing and private duty in Bridgeport and Putnam, CT and as a staff nurse at St. Clare Nursing Home, Newport, RI, the Villa St. Joseph, Putnam, CT and Holy Spirit Healthcare Center in Putnam, CT until her retirement in 2006. She joined the community at St. Joseph Living Center in 2018.
Befre entering the congregation Priscilla worked in her parents’ flower shop and honed her skills in that field. She was known for her beautifully designed floral arrangements that adorned many a DHS celebration. While at the Provincial House she also served her Sisters in community as a driver to appointments, social events, shopping trips and other. She enjoyed being active and often participated in local activities for Seniors including choruses and line dancing. Sister had impeccable taste in clothing that was simple yet elegant and professional looking. She never had a hair out of place. Her social nature made her a great conversationalist and she thoroughly enjoyed meeting new people. Her lovely smile and positive comments will be missed by all who had the joy of knowing her.
Calling hours will be on Monday July 28, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Corpus Christi Parish/ St Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St., Willi mantic, CT with a prayer service at 10:15 AM. At 10:45, the CT Nurses Honor Guard will hold a brief ceremony in honor of her many years of service as an LPN. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 AM followed by burial in St. Mary Cemetery in Putnam, CT at 2:30 PM.
