“Be diligent in serving the poor. Love the poor, honor them, my children, as you would honor Christ Himself.”
St. Louise de Marillac
Standing With Our Brothers and Sisters
On Monday, Feb. 2, Sisters of Charity joined hundreds of people of faith at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Springfield, Ohio, for the ecumenical gathering “Here We Stand.” This powerful community gathering of prayer, solidarity, and public witness, called for an extension of Temporary Protected Status for Haitians and a renewed commitment to justice, compassion, and family unity. The gathering was an opportunity to connect, strengthen relationships, and stand united – showing our nation what it truly looks like to love your neighbor. Sister of Charity of Cincinnati Sally Duffy, who serves on the Board of Directors for Catholic Legal Immigration Network Inc. (CLINIC), and Casey Rollins, executive director of St. Vincent de Paul in Springfield, Ohio, stirred hearts as presenters of the morning prayer.
