Nazareth Campus Services continues to make progress across campus with new staff additions, facility upgrades, and long-term improvement projects. Will Rosenbaum, director of Campus Services, provided a routine update to Sisters on Friday, April 10.
Updates shared include:
- Several new employees have joined the Nazareth staff. The Food Service department recently welcomed Tama Cantrell, Jacqueline Cox, Lindsey Bortz, and Brenda Berry, who will serve as Food Service Manager. Transportation services expanded with the addition of Vicki Hardesty and Judy Cardoza, while Courtney Riggs joined the Nazareth Retreat Center staff. George Barnett also joined the Grounds team, contributing to campus maintenance and upkeep.
- Safety and accessibility remain priorities, with annual door code updates, elevator improvements planned for Carrico and O’Connell Halls, and new heaters installed in Carrico Hall bathrooms. Recent technology upgrades at St. Vincent Church include a new speaker system and recalibrated hearing assist devices to improve sound quality and accessibility.
- Construction and renovation projects continue across campus. Work at the Motherhouse has been completed, while demolition of the Old Laundry building is underway following asbestos removal. Materials from the site are being salvaged for reuse, and the site will be leveled and seeded. Improvements at the Water Plant have also been completed, with additional landscaping planned.
- Looking ahead, the former Montessori annex (Butler Building) is being remodeled into a multi-use space featuring updated technology, accessible amenities, and a new contemplative garden. The space is expected to open in August.
- Campus leaders are exploring the development of a large solar array to support sustainability goals and help achieve the campus’s 2037 zero-emissions target.
- Additional projects include repaving the Nazareth Connector roadway, remodeling the Archives storage area with a planned June reopening, and exploring enhancements to campus pathways and trails.
These ongoing efforts demonstrate a continued commitment to improving campus facilities, supporting sustainability, and creating welcoming spaces for the community.
